Sodexo employees raised £50,000 on Stop Hunger Day

Milk lid mile

Colchester Garrison sent us these fantastic photos of an imaginative display of over 40,000 milk bottle tops stretching out for over a mile. Colleagues placed coins on each bottle top, with all the proceeds counted up for Stop Hunger.

Quiz night

At Sodexo’s head office in Holborn, London, it was all eyes down for a quiz, with players tempted in by a bar, free pizza and some great raffle prizes. The night was brilliantly attended and raised £1,000. The Stevenage office also held a quiz at exactly the same time with the same questions!

Leg waxing

He’s got legs…and he knows how to use them! Last year Greg Jennings from Salford threw himself in Salford Quay for the cause. This year he stayed on dry land, but did something equally bonkers by waxing both his legs. As charity champion for Salford Greg also organised a poker night, raffle and Mario Cart Challenge. The office raised over £2,000 on the day.

Here's a round up of some of the best and most innovate fundraising activities from across the UK and Ireland

Charity car wash

Colleagues in Yorkshire teamed up with the local North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue service to offer a car wash service, with all fees going to the Stop Hunger Day total. The event raised £100.

Cross country challenge

Sport, Leisure & Travel’s team at South Queensferry tackled a cross-country challenge, taking in several Sodexo locations during along the virtual route. Participants donated £10 to walk or run their chosen distance and the gang clocked up 193 miles in total.

Plant sale

Bad weather wasn’t going to stop to a determined bunch from Corporate Services and Horticultural Services who got together to arrange a plant sale, raising nearly £2,000 in the process. Despite sun, rain and even snow, the team achieved record sales, drawing in the buyers with cakes and a raffle too.
